Welcome to Teamsters Local 238, Iowa’s strongest union.  This site is designed to provide information to our members as well as working Iowans who are thinking about organizing their worksite.  Our Local represents thousands of members in a wide range of industries who work under the protection of hundreds of collective bargaining agreements.  Our business agents and offices around the state have one mission – to provide the best representation possible in order to protect and drive up working standards for Iowans.

Teamsters Local 238 is Iowa’s strongest union because of our members.  Our membership is diverse and strong.  While Iowan’s have faced our share of obstacles in the past few years, including floods, tornados and a recession, our Local continues to grow in strength and numbers.  We are mobilizing members, increasing our organizing campaigns, beefing up our political program and providing more training to arm our stewards with the best tools possible to protect their coworkers on the job.

Every aspect of Iowa’s economy relies on the hard work of Teamster members who do their jobs professionally and with integrity.  Our public sector members protect and serve the public while our private sector members manufacture, package and transport goods and services that are vital to the economic health of the state.  We’re proud to be Teamsters and proud to say that the Teamsters keep Iowa’s economy moving.
